This expedition was Spencer's final, as he died from heart failure during the trip. The events leading to his death are recorded in this work, from his own journals.

Including a memoir of Spencer. This work was edited by R R Marett and T K Penniman. With contributions by Sir James Frazer and H Balfour.
Loosely inserted is a review of this work by 'F.C' which was submitted to 'The Age' for publication. There was then a response dated 1931 which states 'The Editor of 'The Age' regrets that he cannot take advantage of the enclosed communication'.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, very smart. Marks to the front board. Bookplate to the front pastedown, Kenn Back. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright. Spots to the fore-edge. Occasional light spots to pages.
