Tom Maschler is a publisher who worked for Jonathan Cape, who discovered and published authors including Ian McEwan and Gabriel Garcia Marquez. The memoir of Arthur Rubinstein, focussing on his younger years and early childhood. Rubinstein was a Polish-American classical pianist, considered to be one of the greatest pianists of all time. Illustrated with twelve monochrome plates.

In the original publisher’s cloth binding, in the original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, fine. Dustwrapper with light edge wear, mostly to the head of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Author’s inscription to the half-title.
