First edition. Scarce work. Illustrated with over one thousand photographs. This work explores the collection of modern dolls, those of the period between 1935 and 1971, which are more widely available and less expensive than other antique dolls. Intended as a ready-reference handbook for newer, modest collectors, with detailed descriptions of each doll, the companies that produce them, and methods of repair. Written by Patricia R. Smith, an American writer of books on dolls and doll collecting. With photographs by her husband, Dwight F. Smith. Edited by Dorothy Westbrook, an American editor.

Condition
