A 1973 edition of this work in the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper.

A comprehensive and accurate collation of all books with coloured plates published in England between 1790 and 1860, excluding those on botany and ornithology, by Ronald Vere Tooley (1898-1986).

Tooley, who was a leading antiquarian bookseller, is considered the founder of the antiquarian map trade. He was an authority on early maps and cartographers, and he founded of the Map Collectors' Circle, which published a series of monographs on historical cartography.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, cloth is in excellent condition. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean except for a little offsetting to the end papers. Dust wrapper is smart and bright, with light sunning to the spine of the wraps, and a little shelf wear to the extremities.
