The first UK translated edition and first printing of Wandering, Notes and Sketches by Herman Hesse in the original publisher's cloth binding and clipped dust wrapper.
First published in 1920, Wandering is a love letter to the beautiful surroundings and natural world of a Ticino mountain village of Montagnola where the author had settled.
Herman Hesse is a German-Swiss poet and artist known for his spirituality. He received the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1946.
This edition includes black and white reproductions from the colour facsimiles of the 1920 edition. The original watercolours have been lost.
Prior owner's undated ink inscription to the half title.
Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding and clipped dust wrapper. The dust wrapper is slightly worn to the extremities. There is some slight bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Prior owner's undated ink inscription to the half title. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are very bright and clean.
