A very scarce translation of this work.

In the original unclipped dustwrapper, in the original slipcase. Slipcase in a very good indeed condition.

An English translation of Saigyo's collection of poems 'Sankashu', also known as 'The Mountain Hermitage' or 'Collection of a Mountain Home'.

'Sankashu' probably date from around c1180, containing 1551 poems in total. The court poems are divided into three plates, the first divided into seasons, the second into 'Love' and 'Miscellaneous', and the third into 'Miscellaneous Songs' and 'One Hundred Songs'.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dustwrapper, and the original slipcase. Externally, smart. A couple of very faint marks to the boards. Dustwrapper with some very light edgewear. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Slipcase with some light marks. Slipcase in a very good indeed condition.
