Limited edition of one hundred copies for sale and twenty for private circulation. This copy is unnumbered. With a charming frontispiece by Julia Trevelyan Oman. Henry James was an American author regarded as the key transitional figure between literary realism and literary modernism and is considered one of the greatest novelists of all time. This short story by James first appeared in the Atlantic Monthly in January 1874 and is a variant on Pygmalion and Galatea.

Condition

In a brown cloth binding with gilt detail to the front board. Externally in excellent condition with just some slight bumping to the extremities and the head and tail of the spine. The odd very light mark to the spine. Internally firmly bound. Pages very bright and clean. Slight offsetting to the title page.
