What Our Customers Say...

Description

First Edition, Illustrated, Scarce, With Dustwrapper

The first edition, first impression of this scarce work in the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original price-clipped dust wrapper.

Bookplate of Desmond Morris to the front paste down.

The wildlife biologist Raymond J. Kramer lived in Hawaii for ten years, and soon realised the need for an accurate reference book about the animals of this area. In this now scarce work, he writes in a lively, scientific style about the various land mammals of Hawaii, alongside illustrations by Khan Pannell.

From the library of Desmond Morris, a zoologist best known for his 1967 sociobiological work ‘The Naked Ape’. Alongside achieving great acclaim as a zoologist, Morris was also known for being an ethnologist and surrealist painter, and for popular television programmes, including ‘Zoo Time’.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original price-clipped dust wrapper. Externally, cloth is very smart and bright. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean. Dust wrapper is a little creased to the rear flap, and clipped to the front flap, but is otherwise in excellent condition.
