This work is part of the 'American Education: Its Men, Ideas, and Institutions' series published by Arno Press and The New York Times. With publisher's advertisements to the rear of the text. This work is a 1971 reprint copy of the 1946 first edition published by King's Crown Press. This copy contains the first edition title page, bound after the 1971 title page. With a portrait frontispiece plate, and two full-page maps.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally very smart, with only minor shelfwear to extremities and head and tail of spine. Slight fading to spine, and the odd mark to boards. Internally firmly bound. Pages very bright and clean, with light scattered spots to endpapers and fore edge of pages (only visible to textblock).
