Carefully selected by fellow bibliographer Percy H. Muir, this work contains a fascinating series of papers on the history of printing and typefounding. 

Johnson was an English academic librarian, bibliographer and specialist in typography, who worked as a Deputy Keeper of Printed Books at the British Museum. 

Essays include 'The Classification of Gothic Types', 'Some French Bible Illustrations in the Sixteenth Century' and 'English Books Printed Abroad'. 

Condition

In the original cloth binding. In the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, excellent with minor shelf wear only. Dust wrapper is smart, with edge wear and slight chipping to the wrap. With marks to the wrap and sunning to the spine. Large closed tear to the fly leaf. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages.
