This edition is reprinted from the fifth edition published in 1710 which contains alterations that were made by Swift. This copy is 365 of only 1560 copies printed, of which 1500 were for sale.
A Tale of a Tub was Swift's first major work and is arguably his best and most difficult satire that takes the form of a prose parody.
Jonathan Swift is regarded as the foremost prose satirist in the English language and is remembered for works such as The Tale of a Tub and Gulliver's Travels.
Condition
In full calf binding. Externally, smart. There is some fading to the spine and a few marks to the rear board. There is a bookplate to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound with bright clean pages.
