The first edition of the work. With an inscription from the author, reading: 'For Deborah, with affection and respect for a most successful woman. Cass' The recipient, Deborah Rogers, was a noted literary agent. In the original scarce glassine wrap. The work is the speech made by Cass Canfield, following their nomination as the A. S. W. Rosenbach Fellow in bibliography. Canfield was the first publisher to be awarded the commendation.

Condition

In the original quarter cloth binding in the original glassine wrap. Externally in excellent condition. Presentation inscription to front free endpaper. Glassine wrap has detached at the spine, with additional chipping and loss. Internally firmly bound. Pages bright and clean.
