What Our Customers Say...

Description

First Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, With Dustwrapper

First edition, with original unclipped dustwrapper. Searle is probably best remembered for his creation of St Trinian's School which sprang to fame shortly after the Second World War. He illustrated over forty books, designed numerous sets and costumes for film as well as creating his own cartoon film 'John Gilpin'. He won many awards for his work including the 'Reuben' award. It was the first time that the National Cartoonist Society of America gave the award to a foreign artist. This is a vastly amusing collection of sketches by the talented artist.
