Hermione Ranfurly is notably remembered for her war-time memoirs 'To War With Whittaker: The Wartime Diaries of the Countess of Ranfurly'. Iris Murdoch was an English novelist and philosopher. She was best known for the subjects of her work being about good and evil, sexual relationships, morality and the power of the unconscious.

In a full cloth binding, in the original dustwrapper. Externally, in an excellent condition with little to no shelfwear. Dustwrapper is in an excellent condition with minor shelfwear to the head of spine. Gift inscription to the recto of front endpaper, H Ivan De Keenal January 1968. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean.
