1968 Scott of the Antarctic
What Our Customers Say...
Description
Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, With Dustwrapper
Captain Scott led two expeditions to the Antarctic in his lifetime, the 'Discovery Expedition, which was a large-scale expedition to carry out scientific and geographical research, and the 'Terra Nova Expedition', on which Scott and his entire team died in 1912. This biography offers a unique insight into Scott's life as the author, Reginald Pound, who was the first person to be offered access to Scott's private correspondence and journals. As a result, this biography is deeply moving, and offers a full view at the person who Scott was, rather than the stiff facade formerly portrayed. With sixteen plates of twenty-five photographs. Collated, complete.
