Pascal's earliest work was in the natural and applied sciences, where he made important contributions to the study of fluids, and clarified the concepts about pressure and vacuums.
Pascal also wrote in defence of the scientific method.

In a half calf binding, with cloth covered boards and gilt detailing to spine. With the publisher's original wraps bound in. Rubbing to back strip head and tail, otherwise externally lovely. Bookseller's label to front pastedown. Inscription and ink stamp to a front blank. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright, with the odd handling mark.
