Written by the New Zealand author Ngaio Marsh, who is considered to be one of the 'Queens of Crime', alongside Agatha Christie.
In the original publisher's cloth bindings, in the original unclipped dustwrappers. Externally, smart. Very minor bumping to the head and tail of the spines. A couple of light marks to the boards and spines. Small tidemark to the top edge of 'Clutch of Constables'. Front endpaper of 'When in Rome' is adhered to the front pastedown. Dustwrappers both with tidemarks to the reverse, tidemark heavier to 'Clutch of Constables'. Minor edgewear and a few light marks to the dustwrappers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Prior owner's ink inscription to the head of the blurb page of 'Clutch of Constables'.
