    The second edition, with twelve new colour photographs and eighty-five in black and white. First published in 1964. 

    In the publisher's original cloth with the original unclipped dust wrapper. 

    Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, fifteen colour plates, and six hundred and thirteen monochrome plates over many unpaginated pages. 

    This volume features a photographic survey by Derek Hill depicting ancient Islamic architecture, and an introduction by Professor Oleg Grabar. This edition features additional photographs.

    Condition

    In the publisher's original cloth. Externally lovely with only slight bumping. The wrap is smart with slight sunning to the spine, and rubbing to the extremities. Internally firmly bound with clean and bright pages.
