At the time of Forester's death this work was left unfinished. This was the eleventh and last book of the Hornblower series. However, it is the fourth in chronological sequence. Many other writers have written conclusions for this novel, such as Bob Smith, the member of the CS Forester Society. With original unclipped dustwrapper. The Horatio Hornblower series is an important sequence of historical fiction. Set during the Napoleonic Wars, the protagonist is a Royal Navy Officer named Horatio Hornblower. The series was later the subject of films, radio and television programmes.

Dustwrapper is very smart, with minor chips to the head and tail of spine. Light rubbing to the extremities. Marks to the wraps. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
