This comic novel was written by Welsh author Leslie Thomas. The work takes inspiration from his own experiences in the British Army and follows a romantic triangle between a conscript soldier, a professional soldier and the daughter of the Regimental Sergeant Major.

In the publisher's original cloth with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally lovely. The wrap is very smart with the odd minor chip, slight marks, minimal wear to the head and tail of the wrap and slight sunning. Tidemarks to the rear of the wrap to the head and tail. Internally firmly bound with clean and bright pages.
