First Edition, Illustrated, Leather Binding

First edition, in a lovely full morocco binding, with gilt detailing.

This interesting work is taken from the diaries of Lord Moran, who was Winston Churchill's personal physician during the Second World War. Moran provides a closer insight into Churchill's thoughts at the time. The work covers the time during and following the war, from 1940 until 1965.

Loosely inserted is a copy of the order of service for a memorial service in Salisbury Cathedral the day after Churchill's funeral in 1965. 

With twenty-one photographs to accompany the text, and a frontispiece.

Condition

In a full morocco binding. Externally, excellent, with light marking to the rear board and the odd handling mark. Light offsetting to endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages very bright and clean, with one or two spots to the fore edge.
