In the original price unclipped dust wrapper, with 'fifth impression' noted to the front flyleaf tail.

Illustrated throughout by Pauline Baynes.

A prequel to the rest of Lewis's 'Narnia' novels, in this work two children witness the creation of Narnia, 1000 years before the events of 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe'.

The story includes autobiographical elements and explores a number of themes with moral and Christian implications, including atonement, original sin, and temptation.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding, with price unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, excellent, with minor bump to back strip head. Spotting to text block head. Dust wrapper back strip a touch age toned, with light handling mark to back strip tail, and light rubbing to back strip head. Minor light spotting to head of fore edge of rear wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
