First edition. Signed by the author to title page, dated 1971. Illustrated throughout with 199 half-tone plates and 13 line drawings in the text. A history of needlework tools and accessories, with chapters on: needles and needle-cases, thread and thread-winders, scissors and knives, knotting and tatting, and many more. Written by Sylvia Groves.

Condition

In the original red cloth binding. Externally, very smart with light shelf wear to the extremities. Original unclipped dust wrapper also very smart with light shelf wear. Contemporary ink inscription to front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout.
