'Birds of South Africa' was first published in 1940. Written by zoologist Austin Roberts (1883-1948), it was the first comprehensive work on South African ornithology, and has since seen numerous revisions and expansions by various experts.

This is a sixth impression of the revised edition, first printed in 1957.

Illustrated with colour plates by Norman C. K. Lighton and black and white illustrations by J. Perry and K. Hooper.

Complete with an unclipped dust wrapper.

Condition

In the publisher's original full cloth binding with an unclipped dust wrapper. Externally generally smart, with some discolouration to the joints and extremities from bumping to the cloth. Dust wrapper has some loss to the edges and chipping to the head and tail of the spine. A few tears to the covers. Internally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
