These were the first Olympics held in Asia, and the first to see South African exclusion due to the use of its apartheid system in sports, as well as being the first to be telecast internationally without the need for tapes to be flown overseas.
A beautiful and extensive report, featuring numerous photographic illustrations in text both in colour and in black and white.
Loosely inserted is a letter printed and signed in print by Daigoro Yasukawa, President of the Organizing Committee for the Games.
Condition
In the original publisher's uniform full cloth bindings. Externally lovely with minor shelf wear only, boards lightly marked. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean.
