Nos. CXXVII and CXXVI of the Second Series of the publications of the Hakluyt Society.

An account of the voyages of navigator and explorer Pedro Fernandez de Quiros, and his 1605-1606 voyage to the 'Austral Lands' and the Franciscan missionary plan of 1617-1627. De Quiros's own journal, and other contemporary documents, is translated by Celsus Kelly,

Volume I illustrated with eight plates, one of which is folding, and a folding table, and volume II illustrated with four plates. Collated, complete.

The Hakluyt Society published scholarly editions of primary records of historic voyages and travels. Including early accounts concerning geography, ethnology, and natural history. The second series ran from 1899 to 1998 and comprised one-hundred and ninety volumes.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth bindings, with price unclipped dust wrappers. Externally, fine. A touch of discolouration to dust wrapper back strips, with a touch of edge wear to back strip heads and tails. Small chip to rear wrap of volume I. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
