What Our Customers Say...

Description

First Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, With Dustwrapper

The first edition of this work, in the publisher's original price unclipped dust wrapper.

This is Franklin Walker's biography of American novelist Jack London's experiences in the famous Klondike gold rush that provided inspiration for many of his most successful works, including 'The Call of the Wild'.

To the front pastedown of this work is the charmingly illustrated bookplate of prominent journalist Malcolm Muggeridge. During World War II, Muggeridge worked for the British government as a soldier and a spy, first in East Africa for two years and then in Paris. In the aftermath of the war, he converted to Christianity and helped to bring Mother Teresa to popular attention in the West. He was also a critic of the sexual revolution and of drug use.

Illustrated with maps and photographs.
