First edition. A bibliography for students of military history compiled from records held in the War Office Library now known as the Ministry of Defence Library. Compiled by Arthur Silva White, a British administrator, geographer and travel author who was a founder of the Royal Scottish Geographical Society. With a preface from Field Marshal Sir Gerald Walter Robert Templer, a senior British Army officer who fought in both the world wars and took part against the Arab Resistance in Palestine. As Chief of the Imperial General Staff, the professional head of the British Army between 1955 and 1958, Templer was also Prime Minister Anthony Eden's chief military adviser during the Suez Crisis.
Condition
In the original green cloth binding. Externally, very smart with minor wear to the extremities. Original price-clipped dust wrapper is also very smart with minor sunning to the spine and light spotting to the panels. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd small spot to the fore edge.
