Two volumes. Volume one is illustrated with frontispiece and two plates. Volume two is illustrated with frontispiece and four plates. Collated complete. The life and works of Ben Jonson, an English playwright and poet. Works include: The Case is Altered, Cynthia's Revels, Eastward Ho! and The Silent Woman. Edited by Charles Harold Herford, an English literary scholar and critic, and Percy Simpson, a British author and critic.

Condition

In the original green cloth binding. Externally, very smart with light shelf wear only. Original price clipped dust wrappers are also smart with light chipping to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with some of the text block unopened. Volume one is an ex-library copy and as such has bookplates to front endpaper and pastedown. Volume one dust wrapper is taped to the book.
