The first and second volumes are a complete catalogue of the Anglo-Saxon fabric surviving in the Churches of England with exhaustive descriptions of various Anglo-Saxon churches with 362 plans and diagram and 280 photographs. The second volume continues on from the first and includes eighty pages of plates to the rear.
The third volume, published in 1978 is designed to serve as an enduring source book for all serious students of Anglo-Saxon art and architecture. Largely, the volume consists of a comprehensive and full illustrated topological study of the principal architectural features and ornaments of Anglo-Saxon Churches. Richly illustrated throughout the text.
All three are in the original unclipped dust wrappers.
Condition
In the publisher's original green cloth binding. Externally, very smart. Internally, all volumes are firmly bound with bright and clean pages. All three are in the original unclipped dust wrappers which are smart with only some very light fading to the spines.
