In the publisher's original price unclipped dust wrapper.

Illustrated with double sided plates containing reproductions of 109 of Thesiger's own photographs, and a photographic frontispiece.

Thesiger discusses the tribes living on the marshes of Iraq, around the junction of the Tigris and Euphrates, among whom he lived for eight years.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding with price unclipped dust wrapper. Bumping to back strip tail, with areas of light fading to boards. Chipping and rubbing to dust wrapper back strip head, with edge wear to back strip tail. Two minor closed tears to tail of rear wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean.
