This work, consisting of twenty-one articles from leading scientists concerning scientific observations of Antarctica, discusses whaling, fish and bird life, navigation, climate and ornithology, amongst numerous further disciplines.

Edited by Sir Raymond Priestley, an English geologist and member of the early twentieth century Nimrod Expedition to Antarctica, and also Robert Falcon Scott's ill-fated Terra Nova Expedition.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding, with cloth covered slip case, and cloth folder containing two folding maps. Light rubbing to tail of front board, with minor shelf wear to back strip head. Otherwise, externally clean and bright. Slip case in excellent condition. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
