Roger Sherman Loomis was a leading American scholar on medieval and Arthurian literature. He is best known for his work on the Holy Grail, as well as his investigations into the roots of Arthurian legend. The half title page is present.

The original unclipped dust wrapper is in smart condition. Shelf wear and chipping to the edges. Age-toning to the panels. Spine is darkened. Spotting to the panels. Closed tear of about two inches to the rear panel. Creasing to the rear panel. Internally firmly bound. Pages very bright and clean. Offsetting to the front blank. Light age-toning to the page edges. The odd spot to the fore-edge.
