What Our Customers Say...
Description
First Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, Scarce, With Dustwrapper
A scarce first edition in the original unclipped dustwrapper. With 16 plates. Collated, complete.
'When the first men land on the Moon, what will they find?', begins the blurb of the dustwrapper, 'these questions and many others are discussed in this book in language easily understood by the layman'.
The author of this work, Sir Patrick Moore was an English amateur astronomer who gained prominence in the field as a writer, researcher, radio commentator and television presenter. He also served as president of the British Astronomical Association.
Included are the lunar photographs of M. Matsui of the Kwasan Observatory in Japan. These would have been especially thrilling at the time, as they were produced years before the 1969 moon landings.
