Complete in three volumes. Volume I: Index Librorum Phibitoru, with an introduction by G Legman. Volume II: Librorum Absconditorum. Volume III: Catena Librorum Tacendorum. 

Containing bio-biblio-icono-graphical and critical notes on curious, uncommon, and erotic works that 'should be banned.' A list of Prohibited Books was a list of publications deemed heretical or contraru to morality. 

This bibliography is compiled by Henry Spencer Ashbee, published under pseudonym Pisanus Fraxi,  boo collector, writer, and bibliographer. 

This clandestine bibliography of erotic literature is his most celebrated work.

Condition

In the original publisher's uniform full cloth bindings. Externally lovely with minor shelf wear only, lightly bumped to head and tail of spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean.
