First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding, Signed, With Dustwrapper

The first edition of this work.

Signed by the author to the title page, 'In the copy of Lord John Kerr on the occasion of a pleasant visit to Oxford, Angus Wilson, October 1961'. This likely to be Sir John Robert Kerr, an Austrian barrister and the Governor-General of Australia.

In the original unclipped dustwrapper. 

'The Old Men at the Zoo' is an exciting novel, dealing with the events before a nuclear attack on London, which results in the impositions of a dystopian dictatorship.

Written by Angus Wilson, an English novelist who won the James Tait Black Memorial Prize for his novel 'The Middle Ages of Mrs Eliot'.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, smart, with just a light bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Some spots to the fore edge. Dustwrapper with minor edgewear and light discolourations. Some minor marks to the wraps. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with just a few spots, mostly to the first and last few pages.
