First edition of this separate work. First published in 'A History of the English-Speaking Peoples: The Great Democracies' 1958. An educational work documenting American history from 'Slavery and Secession' to 'Chancellorsville and Gettysburg'. Illustrated with 39 images on and 6 maps. Collated complete. Written by Sir Winston Churchill, a British statesman, soldier and writer who served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom twice from 1940 to 1945 and 1951 to 1955.

Condition

In the original red cloth binding. Externally, excellent with minor shelf wear and the odd mark to the rear board. Clipped dust wrapper, excellent with minor shelf wear to the extremities. Sympathetic repairs with tape to the reverse of front board due to small closed tear. Internally, firmly bound. Pages very bright and clean with slight age toning to the extremities. Library stamp to reverse of title page.
