Alfred Marshall (1842-1924) was one of the founders of neoclassical economics, and one of the most influential economists of his time. This work, first published in 1890, was for many years the authoritative economic textbook in England. It brought the ideas of supply and demand, marginal utility, and costs of production into a coherent whole.
Volume I contains the text of Marshall's Principles of Economics, with a preface to the first and eighth editions, and a mathematical appendix. Volume II contains an editorial introduction to the work, and editorial notes to accompany the text. This edition, edited by C. W. Guillebaud, is becoming a scarce work, particularly the second volume.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally smart, with light wear to the spine labels and faint marks to the front board of Vol II. A little bumped to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean.
