First edition. A young scientists has been dismissed from his job. The matter is to be kept a secret, but all the twenty fellows agree that he is guilty. Suddenly, a doubt springs up and the college is split in two. Written by Charles Percy Snow, an English novelist and physical chemist who also served in several important positions in the British Civil Service and briefly in the UK government.

Condition

In the original red cloth binding. Externally, very smart with minor wear and the odd small mark to the boards. Original unclipped dust wrapper is also smart with light wear to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean. A contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper. Bookseller's label to the front pastedown.
