The Man'yoshu, meaning 'collection of ten thousand leaves', is the oldest collection of Japanese poetry, compiled during the Nara period after 759AD.It consists of twenty volumes and over four and half thousand waka poems.
An English translation by Kenneth Yasuda, who also provides a commentary on the poetry.
With colour illustrations by Sanko Inoue.

Condition
In the publisher's original full cloth binding with a slipcase. Externally lovely. Slipcase is a little worn to the edges, with a chip along the base. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
