The first English edition of this work. A very scarce work. In the original unclipped dustwrapper. 'The Bronze Christ' is a novel about the cruel martyrdom of Christians in Japan during the seventeenth century, during the height of the Tokugawa dynasty. Written in Japanese author Yoshiro Nagayo, who was active during the Showa period in Japan. Translated into English by Kenzoh Yada and Henry P. Ward.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, smart. A very light amount of bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Dustwrapper with light edge wear, resulting in a few minor chips, and light rubbing and marks to the wraps. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
