The first edition of this work in the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Loosely inserted is an article about a Kennel Club report from the Sunday Times, dated 1964, and a photograph of the British Dalmation Club from the Times, dated 1965. A comprehensive guide to the official Kennel Club standards of the show ring, including the stripping, trimming and handling of dogs. Illustrated with photographs and drawings, this guide covers all 99 breeds, and 8 more breeds which were then starting to become popular. This work was edited and compiled by Barbara Woodhouse (1910-1988), a well-known dog trainer and popular television personality, best known for her 1980 television series 'Training Dogs the Woodhouse Way'.
Condition
In publisher's original cloth binding, with original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, cloth is in excellent condition. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean except for the odd spot to the first and last few pages. A couple of very small chips to the upper extremities of the dust wrapper, and a scattering of spots to the spine, but otherwise the dustwrapper is bright and smart.
