Marsh is regarded as one of the many queens of crime, alongside Agatha Christie, Dorothy L Sayers, and Margery Allingham. Her best known character is Inspector Roderick Alleyn, a gentleman detective working for the Met Police. 

'Singing in the Shrouds' is the twelfth novel to feature Roderick Alleyn and regards a serial killer who is on a transatlantic voyage to South Africa.

In the publisher's original cloth binding. With unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, excellent with minor shelfwear. Dustwrapper is very smart. Small chip to the head of spine, with some loss. Minor shelfwear to the extremities. Prior owner's inscription to the recto of front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
