First edition. In the first person, this work is a self-examination undertaken by and English painter names Samuel Mountjoy while he is held in a German Prisoner of War Camp during the Second World War. Written by Sir William Gerald Golding, a British novelist, playwright, and poet best known for his debut novel Lord of the Flies. He was awarded the 1983 Nobel Prize in Literature.

Condition

In the original red cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing to the extremities and the odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with light spotting to the endpapers.
