What Our Customers Say...
Description
First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding, With Dustwrapper
'Cider with Rosie' is the first in a trilogy that continues with 'As I Walked Out One Midsummer Morning' and 'A Moment of War'.
The work is an account of Lee's childhood in the village of Slad, Gloucestershire, in the period soon after the First World War. It chronicles the traditional village life which disappeared with the advent of new developments, such as the invention of the automobile, and relates the experiences of a childhood seen from many years later.
The first edition, first impression, with issue point 'a fire at the piano-works almost every year' on page 272. This was removed from later impressions as the result of a libel.
