Lewis Carroll was the pseudonym for Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, who is best known for his 'Wonderland' books. His books are of the nonsense genre, playing with logic and fantasy. It's the general belief that his character Alice was based off Alice Liddell, a relationship that has caused a great amount of controversy.
Illustrated by John Tenniel, who was knighted for his artists achievements in 1893. He is best known for his illustrations for 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland' and 'Through the Looking-Glass', and also for his political cartoons for 'Punch'.
Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Spine is a little faded. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with a couple of light marks.
