The painter John O'Connor turns to engraving in this uncommon volume with thirty eight engravings, including eighteen full page colour plates. In the preface Connor qualifies that his engravings are independent of the biographical essays that they coincide with. Born in Leicester, O'Connor studied at the Royal College of Art in the 1930s and exhibited regularly at the Royal Academy. Much of his work is held in public collections including the Tate gallery and the British Museum. Found in the unclipped dust wrapper.
