In five volumes, being years 1959-60, 1960-61, 1962-63, 1964-5, and 1968-69.

An important reference work on naval history, an immense history that notes all of the prominent ships within the world navies from 1959 to 1969. 

The volumes contain tables showing the numerical strength of the various world navies.

This annual work was founded in 1897 by Fred T. Jane. The editor during these volumes was Raymond Blackman.

Each volume is profusely illustrated with photographs of ships throughout.

The 1962-63 volume contains the torn original dustwrapper.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Bumping to the head and tail of the spines and to the extremities, heavier to the 1960-61 volume, with a tear to the head of the spine and tail of the rear joint. Light marks to the boards and spines, heavier to the 1960-61 volume. Crack to the tail of the front joint of the 1964-65 volume, and a bump to the fore edge. White marks to the head of the rear board of the 1968-69 volume. Hinges of the 1960-61 volume is starting but firm. Hinges of the 1964-65 volume are weak. Prior owner's stamp to the pastedowns and recto to the front endpaper of the 1962-63 volume, 'Alastair J. Carrick Smith'. Prior owner's ink to the recto to the front endpaper of the 1964-65 volume. Stamps to the front endpaper, and to various pages of the 1968-69 volume. Dustwrapper for the 1962-63 volume is torn with chips, spots, and some marks. Discolouration to the wraps. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Prior owner's highlighting to page 345 of the 1962-63 volume.
