His works spanned novels, non-fiction, plays and screenplays, with the most famous of his novels being 'The City and the Pillar', 'Julian', 'Burr' and 'Lincoln'.

In the publisher's original full cloth binding with an unclipped dust wrapper. Externally lovely. Dust wrapper has just a little minor wear to the edges and boards; spine is a touch sunned, but it is otherwise in lovely condition. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
