What Our Customers Say...

Description

First Edition, Leather Binding, Original Source

The first edition of this work.

Written by Squadron Leader A.E.Haarer. With a Foreword by Lord Tedder. Tedder was a senior RAF commander. He fought in the First and Second World Wars.

Tedder notes to the foreword 'training, discipline, patience, care, perfect teamwork and that special brand of courage - these were the qualities that distinguished the bomb-disposal units.... Bomb disposal very rarely reached the headlines and thereby proved its efficiency and success, but this account is a welcome reminder of what we owe to the devoted service of those who worked in this strange, tense field of war'.

From the library of one John Gadd, with their bookplate to the front pastedown.

Illustrated with examples of bombs.

Condition

In a full crushed morocco binding. Externally, very smart. Small scratch to the front board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright. Scattered spots to the fore-edge. Just the odd spot to pages.
